🌼 The Calm Corner
A regular check-in for our anxious girls group and their parent/carers
Edition #8 - November 2025
Hello lovely people 💛
As the year starts to wind down and we step into the cosier months, we’re taking a moment to reflect on another month filled with connection, celebration, and a few extra sweet surprises. Whether you’re one of our incredible girls or a parent/carer supporting from the sidelines, this space is for you - to keep up with what’s been happening and know you’re always part of this growing community.
🎉 Celebrating One Year of Group Sessions!
In November, we marked one year of our weekly group sessions - and what a beautiful celebration it was.
We had a popcorn machine, candy floss, a hot chocolate station, cupcake decorating, games on the Switch, and lots of laughter around the table. Delicious food was kindly provided by Aairon from Food for Thought, and the wonderful Ruby, one of our girls, baked some gorgeous biscuits to share with everyone.
As if that wasn’t enough to fill our hearts, we (Shelley & Fay) were completely surprised with flowers and wine, gifted by the oldest and youngest members of the group - organised by one of our amazing team members with a secret collection from parents and the team. It was such a meaningful, emotional moment, and we’re so grateful. 💐
💛 A huge thank you to Take Me Taxis as well for their generous donation, which helped make the night extra special for the girls.
🧶 New! Crochet Corner
We now have a Crochet Corner in group! Some of our talented team members are offering to teach girls who want to learn how to crochet. It’s been a lovely, calming space - full of concentration, creativity, and plenty of yarn-based giggles. If your daughter is interested in joining, just let us know.
🏆 We’ve Been Nominated!
We’re incredibly proud to share that we’ve been named a finalist for SEND Organisation of the Year!
Thank you so much to everyone who put us forward -it means the world. We’re looking forward to hearing about all the other brilliant organisations supporting SEND families too. What an honour to be among them. 💛
🤝 Supporting SEND Families Together
This month we were part of the relaunch of the Solihull SEND Organisations Roundtable - bringing local SEND organisations together with a shared goal: to amplify the voices of SEND families and work towards positive, joined-up change.
We look forward to welcoming even more organisations at the next roundtable. There’s power in unity, and we’re excited to keep pushing for progress together.
🍫 Baking Moments & Thoughtful Gestures
A special shoutout to Millie, one of our lovely girls, who made the most delicious chocolate shortbread biscuits for everyone to enjoy during craft time - and even took the time to write out all the ingredients for us. What a kind and thoughtful gesture!
🫶 Volunteer Role – Wednesdays (4:30–7pm)
We’re still looking for a warm, reliable volunteer to join us on Wednesday evenings to help with crafts, games, and social time. The role also includes some light setting up and packing away.
If you love working with young people in a calm, friendly setting - we’d love to hear from you!
❄️ Festive Vibes Incoming!
As we step into the festive season, you might notice a little something extra... We’ve added a sprinkle of snow to our website to make things feel a bit more magical!
❄️✨ Head over and take a peek - it’s beginning to look a lot like December...
🌼 Kind Reminder
You don’t have to do everything or be everything to everyone. Just showing up - however you are - is enough.
You’re doing better than you think.
💬 Thought of the Month
"Gratitude turns what we have into enough."
This season, we’re grateful for you - every quiet win, every brave step, every moment you chose to be here.
📍 Next Sessions
We’re here every Monday and Wednesday.
Craft bookings are available on the website, and cooking sessions are by email enquiry.
As always, you’re welcome just as you are.
